I...I'm right there with you as a router-hater. I just templated some Shaker cabriole legs and it was white knuckles the whole time. But the worst (for me) is using a lock-mitre bit to make edges for quadrilinear legs (for mission oak furniture.) I don't think carbide and white oak were meant for each other.
