1st BLOG READER: She's late
(Pause)
2nd BLOG READER: She said they would be here
(Pause)
1st BLOG READER: She said they would be here but they're not. I'm ready to see the handles and they're not here.
(Pause)
2nd BLOG READER: If we wait some more they may come.
(Pause)
1st BLOG READER: But they're not here now.
(Longer pause)
2nd BLOG READER: Bother this for a game of marbles; let's go and find something else to wait for.
Exeunt
Tomorrow, I promise. Handles; all done and waxed, Blog readership for the perusal of. And no more pathetic attempts at parodies of Waiting for Godot...
Ahem...so does that make me twiddle-dee or tweedle-dum, er, 1st blog reader or 2nd blog reader? Or?
ReplyDeleteRunning back to the shop...Mike
Blimey, Alf, you know how to build up the tension. Now I'll probably be up at the crack of dawn smurfing your blog so I can say "I saw 'em first."

It's tomorrow. Or is that today? It's 6 am there as I write this...just how late do you expect me to wait [bg]...
ReplyDeleteMike
Well, whichever way you look at it, it's now tomorrow because it's today, and I think Alf is just trying to cause confusion to take our attention away from the fact that we still can't see the handles. What handles? I dunno. I can't see 'em.
