Transylvanian saw poised to taste blood

Cutting up firewood in a Carpathian Mountains stylee:

Materials meeting the saw blade appear to be possibly beech, birch, and very probably white Romanian male...

(Apparently they made it through to the end all in one piece. This time.)

  1. I want that saw! I hate using a chainsaw to cut firewood to length. To build cordwood structures it is the answer. Who sells them?

  2. Neat! Looks like a miniature version of the buzz saw my grandpa used to cut firewood. It ran off a belt from the PTO of his Farmall Cub tractor, and the entire system was completely unencumbered by "safety" features. Kind of like a 10 HP table saw with 30" exposed blade.

    1. I like the term "unencumbered by safety features" that is funny!

  3. I'm a little confused on the second photo. May I ask what direction the split log is traveling? And what of the saw man, is he receiving the piece or delivering, I'm pretty sure here in the states OSHA would have a field day with these guys:)
